Coffee – A New Health Drink…

Coffee lovers can rejoice because the news just keeps on getting better about the benefits of drinking coffee in moderate amounts. There is clear and mounting evidence that coffee can help with antioxidant protection, lessen risk of diabetes, support neurological health, as well as helping us wake-up in the morning… But, now there is additional BIG NEWS. Coffee can not only fuel your energy, it can support one of your most protective friendly bacteria, called a probiotics.

Scientists working in the Nestle Research Center in Switzerland have just reported that our morning, mid-day and afternoon coffee habit can be helping us more than we realize. Drink up, 3 cups a day was shown to actually boost the growth of the friendly and powerful “good neighborhood watch” bacteria called Bifidobacteria in your stomach, which is associated with numerous health benefits.

Many of my patients will see my cup of java on my desk as we visit about their health issues.
